Today is the annual Puerto Rican day parade in Manhattan. For those of you who have not had the pleasure, the ritzy glitzy glamerous and posh residents of Fifth Avenue on Central Park have to deal with living in Spanish Harlem for the day.
It's nice when a whole demographic of people who have been pushed to the outer boroughs due to rising housing costs, claim this prime piece of manhattan real estate for the day to party. A few things to expect: - Pimped out Kias and Civics (with all the money spent on these rims, exhausts, and sounds systems - just buy a fricken beemer!), -urban music that "everyone" has to listen to (listening with headphones does not suffice, this art form can only be appreciated when a whole city block can hear it). -tatoos that say RIP "John Doe" - every Rican must honor a loved one via self-mutilation. -excessive gold jewelery to tell the opposite sex - "I am succesfull!" I have more gold than than then the other suitors. -kids with their fathers on their monthly visitation day. -kids who don't know who their fathers are. -women unintentially looking to get knocked up. -men on the prowl. -doo rags. AND FINALLY, -large, large booties. |

Im trying to figure out if this is humorous or prejudice. Or a mixture of both. Were you actually at the parade to see all of this or are these remarks made based on your personal opinion of the Puerto Ricans as a people?
