Here is a site to check out some of the forgotten spots in New York City. Forgotten NY
Believe it or not most NYC tours dont take tourists into the east village or lower east side which are happening areas. Most of the time that I walk around there I dont recognize too many tour groups. |

You can also rent a bicycle and ride in Central Park or Hudson River Park. Some of the views while on your back tour should be breathtaking and at the very least relaxing. (if your into biking)
Ferry ride is highly recommended - Circle Line, NY Waterway, or NY Water Taxi. In the cultural arena, you can visit Chelsea art galleries - hundreds of art galleries, all free, in the area of several blocks, 24th, 23rd Streets, between 10th and 11th Avenues. |

This is an interesting post. I feel like most tourists probably dont go into Brooklyn. There is a lot of cultural aspects in brooklyn that I think most people dont see.
