Any predictions on the outcome of the New York Jets season? I see this teams getting back into the playoffs. The entire defensive unit is back with some added veterans such as former dallas cowboy kenyon coleman. The offense, I believe, should be strong with the new running back Thomas Jones. Leon Washington and him will make a dangerous backfield. But the real question is how will Chad Pennington hold up. A lot of rumors floating around about his arm strength. If Chad is 110% healthy the new york jets should have a great season. The only team I believe standing in there way is the new look New England Patriots (w/ Randy Moss)!

I agree the Patriots will be tougher to be beat. Randy Moss was a great addition. But the Jets will be much better then last year to. With a full returning D that could be one of the top 5 this season I do believe the Jets should be much tougher. The problem is definitley going to be if Chads arm is still full of strength.

So I finally watched one of the NY Jets preseason games last night against Philly. I was extremely impressed with defensive linemen Mosley. He has three sacks and 2 forced fumbles of which one was recovered by the Jets. I would like to see him make the final cut. I like the depth the New York Jets will have this season from all the talented players they have on their roster. It will be a very tough decision when it comes to trimming down the roster in the next couple of days for Manigini.
I keep reading in the papers about how QB Kellen Clemens is looking really sharp. It almost makes me feel like he should be given a chance immediatly if Pennington gets sloppy on opening day against New England. I wanted to see more of him last night against Philly but from what I am hearing I wouldnt mind giving him a chance in the regular season. |

Well Baltimore beat the NY Jets to bring the Jets record to 0-2. The second loss may be more gratifying for the Jets as backup QB Kellen Clemens had an amazing 4th quarter when running the no huddle offense. I believe the QB position still belongs to Chad Pennington but if Chad doesnt start winning games you will see Kellen Clemens in there sooner then we all think.
Another great point is new running back Thomas Jones played much better in his second game. He was much more focused and aggressive to the hole. Hopefully this week we will beat the Dolphins and try to get back into the thick of things. |

I believe the NY Jets will fair well this season if they make Kellen Clemens the starter AND make him run a NO-HUDDLE offense like he did against Baltimore and was SUCCESSFUL!! I think Chad Pennington WAS great and his intangibles help us win games, but my doubts about his arm strength are what I believe keep us from winning playoff games.
Defensivley, I believe we have the talent on paper. The defensive players just need to step up and make plays. I have no doubt that we probably have a top 5 defensive unit in all the NFL this year. |

Well with KR / CB Justin Miller done for the season (which is a huge loss bc of his kickreturning abilities ) I believe the Jets have a chance to survive the season but with one of the tougher schedules this year in the league, I dont see them making the playoffs.
This weekend against the Dolphins, they should pull together and win this game though, especially since they are honoring one of the most beloved New York Jets players of all time, Wayne Chrebet. |

Well the NY Jets finally got their first win of the season against Miami yesterday. The Jets defeated the Dolphins, a game the Jets should have won. A lot of positivity came across the NY Jets team.
The offense moved the football when they had to. The running game was much improved with Thomas Jones netting 110 yards. There were spurts at the end of the game yesterday where Thomas Jones had some very nifty moves to pick up more yardage. He continued to play aggressive. I feel bad he couldnt find his way into the endzone. Laverneus Coles had a beautiful touchdown reception, as did Chris Baker (the NY Jets tightend). Defense finally recorded its first sack of the season, which I believe belonged to Sean Ellis. They also recorded the first interception of the season which belonged to Kerry Rhodes. Defense definitley needs improvement as there were points during the game the Dolphins marched down the field with ease. Special Teams as well was VERY GOOD. The first two kickoffs for the Nugent landed in the back of the endzone for touchbacks and Leon Washington on the recieving end brough home a kickoff return for a touchdown. It was def a 99 or 98 yard touchdown return. Nugent also was perfect with field goals going 1-1. All in all it was a good day for the Jets. |

Did you see Leon Washintons kickoff return for a touchdown this past weekend? I hope you were watching! Who is Justin Miller again? |

Swim, maybe i should requote how badly we will miss Justin Miller all season and each week Leon will bring one back all the way. And btw I was ecstatic when Leon ran that back, I am a huge fan of his. |
