The Nets signed Williams and Boone yesterday, using the NBA rookie pay scale that guarantees the first two years and provides a team option for years three and four. Williams, the 22nd pick, gets $1.898 million; the No. 23 slot provides Boone $1.822 million. The NJ Nets also lost jacque vaugne to free agency, he signed with the san antonio spurs. Cliff Robinson will be back with the New jersey nets.

Rumor wise...the new jersey nets are looking at Rasual Butler of the Hornets and Greg Buckner of the Denver Nuggets.

Hey big....Greg Buckner signed with Dallas I believe. So he is no longer available but I think they should go for Melvin Ely. He seems like a good fit for the new jersey nets. Is there anyone else that the new jersey nets should look for and/or go after?

I agree melvin ely would be a good fit. if they cant afford him i would look at bringing back kenyon martin although that would NOT make sense cause he is worth more. Being more realistic I would look at Darius Songaila, Al Harrington, Bonzi Wells, Drew Gooden, Jared Jeffries, Lorenzen Wright, and Chris Wilcox as top free agents who have yet to find a home.

It sucks that Josh Boone will be done for 4 to 6 months. I heard really excellent things about his summer play in Orlando ....well except his last game in which Thorn noticed his injury. The nets definitly need to look for another big man in free agency....I was thinking Melvin Ely or bringing back Aaron Williams.

A-Train is more of a possibility than Ely, who wants more money.

Boone will be back before the ALL-Star Break....that means, one more half of Collins 3pts, 5 rebound games

Choosing to do their shopping in the bargain bin instead of the free agent market, the Nets acquired seven-footer Mikki Moore from the SuperSonics yesterday for a 2009 second-round pick.
The Nets' motivation was size. They've been looking for a veteran big man since learning last week that first-round pick Josh Boone (shoulder) would miss up to six months. But free agents such as ex-Net Aaron Williams wanted more money than the Nets were willing to offer.

So the Nets turned back to Moore, who played four games for Jersey in 2003-04. Athletic but slim, Moore (3.3 points, 2.8 rebounds per game last season) could mesh with the Nets' up-tempo mentality but won't provide muscle.

No idea what he was asking for but the Nets are not interested. The GM Ed Stefanski said no major acquisitions are likely. All that's left is tweaking, such as obtaining a shot-making swingman - Devean George has been rumored.

Well I personally dont remember him on the Nets roster before but obviously he was for a short period of time. Here is what GM Ed Stefanski said about Moore, "We got a guy who can run the floor, he's athletic, he can make an open shot, has good hands and he's a good team defender. We felt we had to add to the depth, especially with Boone getting injured."

So i guess he will suit the nj nets needs, at least i hope
