1 - Jules Undewater Lodge- What started out as an underwater research center has changed into a full service lodge. Fortunately for its guests they have added in air conditioning, hot showers, music, DVD, and unlimited diving. This is perfect for someone look to get credit for a PADI or NAUI certification, or really anyone who wishes that they were a fish! You can actually spend multiple days underwater, as all of your meals are brought to you.

The hotel is located in a restored thousand-year-old Byzantine monastic retreat which offers modern conveniences without distracting from the spiritual feeling of the area which has been known to be inhabited for more than five thousand years. Gamirasu cave Hotel is featured in major international travel guides as one of the best cave hotels of Cappadocia. It is also mentioned as a romantic escape for honeymoons in wedding magazines. The hotel has a total of twenty rooms: standard double, deluxe rooms, Cave Suites, Family Suites and Superior Suites. 3 - Hotel de Glace (The Ice Hotel) - check here for photos of the Ice Hotel This is an absolute must if you are visiting Quebec City in the Winter. Stay in the Ice Hotel. It's freezing but well worth the experience. It's very expensive for one night. You can get a computer in your room with internet. Plenty of caribou to keep you warm! 4 - Wild Canopy Reserve - Wild Canopy Reserve is not very far from some of the major cities of South India and is easily accessible once you touch down at Bangalore, Chennai, Mysore and Coimbatore. Driving down from these cities (except Chennai) could be a scenic and thoroughly enjoyable way to reach us, although there are other ways of getting here as well. I have heard that the WILD CANOPY RESERVE IS CURRENTLY CLOSED, due to ongoing issues with the owners of the private reserve near the Masinagudi Wildlife park. Still it is a VERY unusual place! 5 - Das Park Hotel - is an experimental hotel in Linz, Austria where you can decide how much you’d want (or can afford) to pay for your stay. The catch? * The rooms — which boast of a full headroom, double bed, storage, light, power, woolly blanket and light cotton sleeping bag — are made from refurbished drain pipes. * Toilets, showers, minibar and the café which you can use are from public spaces (the park!) surrounding the hotel. It’s winter now so they are not accepting guests. You can book in advance when they open again in May, though. I do not really recommend this type of lodging but, hey, if you are desperate and need cheap digs while in the area, Das Park Hotel is for you. Last edited by CityGuy : 08-10-2008 at 04:32 PM. |

that ice hotel is crazy! they keep the rooms between -2 and -4 C.
I dont know if I could do that. I hope the blankets are really really thick and extremely warm. Do you actually sleep on a slab of ice? |
