It happened in the early morning (middle of the night) but Willie Randolph was fired as the NY Mets were on a western road trip.
Not sure about this call! This could easily have a negative impact on the team. |

Willie Randolph was fired the same way any corporation fires someone who is not doing what they want or bringing in the money. This should the final proof, once and for all , that baseball and aLL professional sports are entertainment and business and any decision made by the company or manager is based on what stockholders will want at the board meetings. Does anyone know how many corporate execs have been escorted off the property after they have been fired? Firing Randolph is the equivalent of Mariah Carey losing a record deal, the Backstreet boys no longer together, Shelley long no longer in the movies, or any child actor or singer (Frankie Lymon) not being able to get arrested. "We will not support you because you are not bringing in the money necessary to support us".
IT'S NOT PERSONAL TOM, IT'S STRICTLY BUSINESS |
