Default Bette Midler - New Leaf Cafe (Earth Day 4/22)

Mostly for setting -- the patio is incomparably beautiful, nestled among old trees on a promontory. The restaurant building is a lovely old slate-roofed stone house.
Unfortunately the food didn't quite live up to the scene and the staff was too easily overwhelmed.

Price of dishes are around 25 to 35 dollars. It boasts jaw-dropping views of the Hudson River (& GW Bridge) and has a cozy, cottage-y feel.

If the food were good I would totally recommend taking a date there.

I heard she was the owner but I def know she is the founder of the non-profit New York Restoration Project (NYRP) which enables deprived neighborhoods an environmentally friendly atmosphere.

I will try to find out for sure if she owns the place.

But as you can see with the link i provided Lorraine Bracco of the Sopranos has been here before to help in the benefit of this charity.

I was there a few years back and I agree the food did not live up to the beautiful restaurant but I was just recently there again and the food was MUCH MUCH better
