Default Day of Decision for Congestion Pricing

As Mayor Bloomberg's plan to charge drivers a fee to enter Manhattan below 60th Street neared its deadline today, support for the proposal in the State Legislature remained tenuous at best. If the Legislature does not approve it by Monday night, New York City will lose out on $354 million in federal money to support the initiative — an outcome that could diminish the hopes of seeing congestion pricing in Manhattan anytime soon.

354 Million Dollars is a lot of money its safe to say i dont think this plan will go through even if Bloomberg is one of the wealthiest new yorkers

means the air quality will decline and as for the growth of nyc it will obviously slowly increase in time as our economy MAY do better sometime down the line. As for now pple will still commute in and now over crowd nyc as pple will want to live in the burbs to escape crazy manhattan prices!

yea the whole situation with the congestion pricing is a give and take! A healthier air quality would be nicer but charging a group of pple (commuters) an insane amount (8 bucks) on TOP OF TOLLS is somewhat crazy!
