Hotels near Yankee Stadium - LocalApple

What are some good areas to stay in if I am visiting to go to a Yankees game in May? There are sooo many hotels and I cant decide if staying in New York or New Jersey is my best option. I would like to be in a safe area!

Well, the area around Yankee Stadium is not that safe. If your brave then god bless you.

There's a Holiday Inn and Royal regency Hotel in Yonkers on Tuckahoe Rd about 10 miles from the stadium on I87. Easy on-easy off. I've heard good things about them. You could cab it if you dont have a car.

There is also a Howard Johnson right off the Major Deegan Expressway. Not sure what the rates are per night but you would def need a cab or car to get back and forth from the Yankees game.

personally your better off spending extra cash staying in manhattan somewhere SAFE and taking the subway back and forth. Bronx is not the greatest of the boroughs.

i agree stay somewhere safer and just take the subway. the subway is cheap and it takes you right to the stadium.

hopefully i get to see a game at yankee stadium in its final year ... i would also like to see a Mets game since they are moving as well

any hotel recommendations near Shea Stadium??
