The NY Rangers beat the Washington Capitals last night 5-2. It was a night for Jamir Jagr as he eclipsed the 1,500 point mark and became only the 12th player in NHL history to do so. He had three assists on the night and it was his second assist that brought him to the 1,500 point club. Michal Rozsival had 2 goals for the NY Rangers.

The NY Rangers needed the win to keep up with the playoff race. The Rangers now have 59 points and trail 8th seeded Tampa Bay with 62 points.

So whats everyones opinion about the upcoming 2007-'08 NY Rangers? With additions of Scott Gomez and Chris Drury the New York Rangers offense should have a very dangerous punch especially if those 2 new comers mesh well with guys like Jamir Jagr, Brendan Shanohan, & Sean Avery. I think this team finishes atop the Atlantic Division.

well right now we are just about half way through the regular season and the NY Rangers stand with 40 points. Surprisingly the nj devils are first in the Atlantic with 43. I do believe the Rangers will pick up their play during the second half of the season and finish either first or second. I do believe the entire division will be very close and competitive.

Swim, I think your right the way the rangers are playing now they have not lost in a month. The devils and penguins have been on and off. With that kind of inconsistency the Rangers could def climb there way back up top of the Atlantic Division ....it wont be easy though

With just 6 game remaining till the playoffs start, the NY Rangers are 2-2-2 in their last 6. Without Scott Gomez (out w/ sprained ribs) the Rangers had to juggle lines. Jagr was the best forward against Philly last night scoring early in the first period. But midway through the 3rd period Daniele Briere scored a pretty goal to tie the game at 1. The Rangers Sean Avery made a HUGE MISTAKE when he threw the puck towards center ice as they were making a line change. The rest I dont want to remember.

The Rangers are only one point ahead of Philly and three points behind the Devils. They play the NJ Devils tommorow night in a VERY BIG atlantic division game.
