The New York Islanders have won the three previous meetings so far this season against the NY Rangers but last night the Islanders suffered their first defeat 4-2. The NY Rangers were just much quicker and faster to the puck.

The teams have played half of the eight-game season series but won't meet again until March. The Rangers are tied for first in the Atlantic Division, three points ahead of the Islanders, who have played two fewer games.
