A-rod will not be joining the New York Yankees next season after opting out of his contract next year. He will lose 72 Million dollars in guarenteed money and will obviously be looking for a better deal. He is a selfish player and very low class especially to do it on a night during the world series. He is all about the money and unfortuantly he can be because he may be one of the best ball players ever.

whats crazy is that even David Ortiz who just won the world series said, "He did it for a reason. I wish him the best," David Ortiz said. "Man, I never would walk away from $150 million."
I dont think many people in their right state of mind would walk away from the lump sum of money. A-Rod you are truly a PUTZ! Red Sox fans behind the third-base dugout at Coors Field chanted "Don't sign A-Rod!" after Boston's victory. even though im a new york yankees fan i have to say that i thought that was funny! |

I agree completely with the writer of this espn article. A-rod is leaving the New York Yankees because he feels that he is too good for the game. Of course his agent had to announce it during a World Series game to prove that. I feel bad for whatever team signs him next. That team is going to have a lot and I really mean A LOT on their plate as A-Rod will chase the Home Runs record. He will buffer up his regular season stats and probably choke come playoff time if his new team is a team that will make the playoffs. I personally believe that this is a good transistion for the Yankees.
They have never gotten to the world series with A-Rod anyways. It proves after 4 seasons in New York, A-Rod was and probably never will be the answer. Steinbrenner is not the kind of person that cares too much about regular season stats unless it comes with the price of a championship! |

Not everyone in the new york city region is blaming A Rod for leaving the NY Yankees. With the cost of living increasing tremendously people in the area (specifically CEO and top wall street traders) believe he should test the market and see what he can come up with.
Other CEO's and executives believe he is leaving the best brand sports team in the country with so much publicity that top businessmen in the area could offer insane amounts of money in endorsements. Unless of course A Rod signs with the NY Mets. Should be interesting to see what he gets and where he ends up. |
