The opening day for hockey starts in less then an hour as "The Rock" will open its doors to the New Jersey Devils fans in hopes of seeing their team knock off the number one team in the eastern conference, the Ottawa Senators.

The Devils who have just finished a 9 game road trip last lost to the NY Rangers 2 nights ago. Now with a home opener (literally) the Devils will try to turn things around in what should be a great game tonite between 2 playoff hopefules.

The new jersey devils better win tonight for the fans .... i dont even care that we are playing the first place team in the eastern conference

Patrick Elias got ripped by Sutter in the New Jersey Star Ledger. Patrick Elias never commented back but I believe this is Sutter trying to bring the best out in his star player and i sure hope it works especially tonite against ottawa!!

are you watching the nj devils pregame....it was kinda funny watching the devils take the ice for the first time....some of the players said the ice surface at the rock was much better the continental airlines arena.

did you see lou lamorello (i spelled it wrong i know) with his hot coffee in his hand as the players were taking the ice.

The mayor of Newark spoke with the maven about how Newark NJ is gonna be the hub transportation center of the area....i highly doubt it. Does that even make sense?

it could be but i do NOT see how one arena is gonna change newark drastically ... unless the new jersey devils bring in lots of fans that use mass transportation & help the economy in newark.
