I feel like the new jersey devils have a decent team but for some odd reason we can NOT play a full 60 min game. We also make horrible decisions especially on defense. A perfect example was Karl Rachuneks give away to the new york rangers Brendan Shanahan. Shanahan made a gorgeous pass to Dawes who ripped one past Marty Broduer.
The NJ Devils need to wake up and they need to wake up quickly! The next game will be in Newark at the Prudential Centers "the rock". But the first home game there is going to be against the best team in the eastern conferences' Ottawa Senators. I feel like the Devils are gonna let down the fans on opening day. We can NOT afford to make mistakes against a team like Ottawa cause if we do we will def pay the price. Im trying to be optimistic but we need a better performace from our WHOLE team...top to bottom!! |

well the new jersey devils lost tonight against the Ottawa Senators 4-1. This was their opening game at the Prudential Center which is the Devils brand new arena. Unfortunatley for the NJ Devils they lost their first game ever their. Hopefully the nj devils will end this losing streak soon. Luckily ALMOST all the Atlantic Division teams lost tonight. The New York Rangers lost to Toronto 4-1, the New York Islanders lost 8-3, and the Penguins lost in overtime to Montreak 4-3. The Philadelphia Flyers beat Boston 2-1.

Seriously this nj devils play is horrible. I watched them put up a good fight saturday night against the New York Rangers. A game which I thought the Devils deserved the 2 points more then the new york rangers. But of course the NY Rangers won the game in a shootout.
So after this game i was happy with their performance but depressed about the final result. Last night the nj devils lost 5-0 to the Penguins. This has been like at least the 4th or 5th game the Devils have been shut out this early in the season, which is insane. I am starting to question the players ability to perform for a full 60 minutes. I was at the game last night against Pittsburgh and I can honestly say that i was bored. I spent most of the time chatting on my cell phone cause the game was completely unentertaining. The NJ Devils need to come out and actually play. They played a horrible game last night! And if they continue this they sure as hell shouldnt expect to fill up this new arena! |

well here we go again! the nj devils are now on a 4 game losing skid getting closer to the playoffs!! They lost 7-1 and last night 2-0 to the Penguins who are now 4 points ahead of them. The Devils DID control their own destiny at winning the Atlantic Division but they chose to let it go. With 6 game left I am guessing they MUST WIN AT LEAST 4. Two of those game are against the Rangers and one of the games left is against the Boston Bruins who are fighting all odds at just getting into the playoffs.
Boston is only 2 points ahead of Washington for the final spot. These final games wont be easy for the Devils as they have not scored more then 1 goal in a game since they obviously last won. |
