so last i heard the new york yankees were gonna wait till next week to decide on what to do with joe torre. I know that also George Steinbrenner said if the NY Yankees failed to get past the first round of the playoffs Joe Torre would pretty much be gone. If this is true, who would take over?

so joe torre has signed a contract with the LA Dodgers. How fitting of him to go to a former new york sports team (brooklyn dodgers) during the season which will mark their 50th anniversary. Sad to see a great guy leave town.
He meant a lot to the city. I think what even helped his reputation was the fact that after 9/11 people looked for something that would take their minds off the tragedy and focused on the Yankees in the playoffs. That was the year the New York yankees lost the world series to Arizona Diamondbacks. I did have a chance to listen to him on Mike and the Mad Dog and he did say that a lot of new yorkers were wishing him well. I would def be one of those people, I truly believe Joe Torre is a standup guy. |
