You walk into the fancy shmancy hotel in the Le Parker Meridian Hotel, right next Carnegie Hall. Beatiful lobby, five star class. Tucked away behind the check in desk is a neon sign of a burger with an arrow. Follow it.
You'd expect some fine dining at this luxurious place, but instead is a simple burger joint for the regular folks. No menu. A sign gives instructions on how to order. Step 1: With or without cheese. Step 2. How you want it cooked. Step 3: What fixins you want. If you want everything - lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, mustard, ketchup, and mayo, you must call it "the works". Dare you say "everything" or be tossed out like the soup nazi. For you vegetarians you can also get a burger without meat, aka grilled cheese. But dont be a pussy and have a fucking burger. Break your code of ethics. Also try the curly fries. Pretty fricken good. Total cost of Burger + Drink = $7.75. A little pricy - the burget aint so big, but hey- your in a super fine hotel. Well worth it. After burgers, hang around in the beautiful lobby with nice leather sofas. Pass a little wind from all that grease you just ate. Let the rich smell your mark. After a while use the toillette's which are pristine and clean. You'll need them. Located at 118 W 57th St between Broadway and 6th avenue. |

Totally agree about Le Parker Meridien. Don't let the doorman snicker at ya! All the employees love those burgers.
Just in case you aren't in "midtown" and might be looking for a burger place to satisfy that craving, try Cozy Soup N Burger. It's located on Broadway at Astor Place. Ask any self-respecting NYU student with a budget! Also Jackson Hole! |
