I think the hardest place to hail down a cabbie is from 10pm till about 1am in lower manhattan on a Friday or Saturday night. There are too many people looking to hit the bars quickly and get door to door service that its near impossible to get a cabbie on those days or in that time frame. Unless your lukcy or know something I dont, please share your secret!

NYC is definitly not an easy place to find cabs but there are other areas that are difficult other then lower manhattan. Try finding a cab around Christmas time in Times Square, when NYC has its most tourists. Thats another very difficult time.

Yea during christmas time its also impossible to walk in times square there are sooo many people. Its too overcrowded in that area. Lower manhattan on friday and saturday nights must be a difficult time to grab a cab.

I dont think New york city cab drivers are hard to find at least not in manhattan. What about outside the borough of manhattan, in brooklyn, queens, bronx, or staten island. I would those places would be hard to find a cab? Anyone agree??

a lot of people i know that live in the outer boroughs rely on a car service ... they usually have the number stored in their cell and get a car service to pick them up. and its usually not too expensive.

my friends pays around 15 bucks to get a car service from almost anywhere in Manhattan to Williamsburg Brooklyn
