You can't visit NY or live in NY without recognizing the value of Bllomingdale's. Though it is not even my favorite Department store in the city (Sak's is), I still recognize that this place is a New York institution, and that it tends to have better sales than any of the other department stores. This is a place I have enjoyed visiting since I was a child. And as I get older, I can browse less, and shop more.

i find bloomies to have a GREAT return policy and the people that work there are very helpful. I also go to the bloomingdales in NJ at Short Hills to save some cash on the sales tax. I'm sure lots of new yorker's do that as well as it is literally a 30 min drive tops from the Holland Tunnel.
