Default L. Coles finally speaks ....

Ever since Brett Favre was traded to the Jets L. Coles has not said a word to any media source or outlet. The only thing I heard was Coles saying F** You! to a fan during practice. The fan yelled at Coles saying, "Chad cant throw that far!" meaning that Coles should have been further down field to catch that pass. Coles obvisouly didnt appreciate that.

I am getting really really ticked off with Coles! First it was his stupid contract which i dont even think should have been guarenteed! Now its his silly stunt of not speaking to the media. Look, if he doesnt want to speak to the media thats cool, but he and Favre better be talking behind closed doors. He and Favre better be buddies because if Coles makes Favre look bad, then you can flush "team chemistry" down the toilet!

On a happier note, I am glad to see that J. Cotchery and C. Stucki (not sure if its spelled correctly) are taking a liking to the Favre rocket!

City ... you didnt know chad and coles were butt pirates together!

Coles needs to grow up! If he and Chad are close friends get on the phone and call the guy! No need to cry and be a ****ing pussy, COLES!!

If I were L.C I would embrace the fact that I have a H.O.F QB with a rifle of an arm! As a matter of fact I would consider cheating on Chad for Brett!

Coles must hate that song, "You Cant Always Get What You Want" by the Rolling Stones!

He really is a greedy bastard! First the contract and now the silent treatment, from the sound of it I'd think he is in kindegarden.

Wow! your all over reacting! During the pre season game against the Browns I saw Favre and Coles laughing and chatting on the sideline.

Granted Coles may be upset at losing Pennington but Coles is not taking that out on Brett or the organization. He is just a personable guy who lets his emotions get the best of him. He will get over it, BUT I repeat he is NOT taking this out on Favre or the organization!

swimcoach you were right - on espn.com today it stated that coles and favre were talking and sharing laughs. i guess coles is just upset at how pennington was treated but he is in no way shape or form taking this out on Favre

L. Coles has missed the first 2 preseason games but does anyone know if he will play against the NY Giants this upcoming weekend?

It makes me sick that we gave him guarenteed money and he seems more uncommited then ever before... just the vibe I am getting from him!

Coles finally speaks,

Quote:
On his decision to keep silent …
“I felt it was the right thing to do, because no matter what I said, I’d be wrong. If I praised Chad too much, then of course, I’m the bad guy who’s not happy. But if I praised Brett too much, then I’m not a true friend of Chad. It’s one of those things where I kept my mouth closed and waited until this day was finally over and in the rearview mirror. Now it’s come and gone … If you develop a special relationship with people like I had developed with Chad, of course you’re going to take that kind of personal. I can return to being me,”

On learning the news from Chad …
“I was the first one he came to when he got the news. To be woken up in the middle of the night, to get news like that about a guy you’ve been with for a long time and a guy you’ve discussed every important decision you’ve ever made, it was tough. I always went to him for advice.

“For me, when you develop a special relationship with certain people, like the one I had with Chad, it’s kind of personal. You have to put yourself in his shoes.”

On his relationship with Favre …
“It’s different. It’s one of those situations where Brett is Brett and you just fall in. I don’t know what you want me to say … It’s cool. There are no quarrels with me and Brett. Never been since Day One. Never been a problem since Day One.”

On speaking to Chad the night before the game and his happiness for him …
“This is something Chad wanted. That’s the most important thing. He looked good out there. He’s a great player and he’s always competitive. Any time you have him out there, he’s going to give you a chance to win the game.”

i diagree with Coles to keep quit though. i think by not speaking at all was the worst situation. no body asked him to pick sides. but he should have been vocal in welcoming Favre.

all of the Jets players were sad to see Pennington go. Pennington is class act. But all the NY Jets players welcomed Brett Favre graciously trying to make him feel at home. Coles should have done the same thing, ESPECIALLY because he is our number one receiver.
