Default Countdown for M. Broduer to the All Time wins

record.

So when does Marty reach win 552. I am thinking he will do it before 2009. My guess is late November early December.

Marty enters the Devils' regular-season opener Friday against the Islanders needing 14 wins to surpass Roy's 551.

"It says it all in any sport," Brodeur said. "It's winning. That's the bottom line. I win a lot of games and a lot of people are happy around me. If you're the goalie that has the most wins, that says a lot about the success you've had."

By the end of the season, the three-time Stanley Cup winner and four-time Vezina Trophy winner also could own records for most shutouts, games played and minutes played. As Brodeur is a goaltender who has started at least 70 games 11 times and 77 last season, the games and minutes records, also owned by Roy, should be no problem - if he stays healthy.

Brodeur needs to play 62 games to surpass Roy's total of 1,029 and 3,028 minutes - roughly 50 games - to break Roy's mark of 60,235.

The shutouts record might prove more difficult to reach. Brodeur needs eight to break Terry Sawchuk's record of 103. Since 1996-97, Brodeur has averaged seven, but had only four last season.

He had a league-leading 12 in 2006-07, though.
14 more wins for Marty and I think he could possibly do that within his first 25 to 30 games. I think it will be tough because I am sure once he gets to around 5 needed wins for the record it will be on his conscious! So I think it gets tougher in the end.
