Default Roger Federer vs. Rafael Nadal

So the French Open just ended and Federer still has never won this major title! During his winning speech Nadal apologized because he understands how badly Federer wants to win this. Federer is still the number one ranked tennis player in the world but its safe to say Nadal is just the best clay court tennis player maybe ever!

The Spaniard became the second man to win four consecutive French Open titles. Bjorn Borg did it in 1978-81.

Nadal improved to 28-0 at Roland Garros, where he has won 84 of 91 sets. Only six-time champion Borg won more French Open men's titles. And Nadal became the first man since Borg in 1980 to win the tournament without dropping a set.

WIMBLEDON, England -- Returning to his favorite stage and resuming his dominant ways on grass, Roger Federer started his bid for a sixth straight Wimbledon title Monday by sweeping Dominik Hrbaty in straight sets on a sunbathed Centre Court.

Third-seeded Novak Djokovic was among other winners on the opening day of the two-week tournament.

In keeping with tradition, Federer had the honor of opening play on the main stadium court as defending champion at the 122nd Wimbledon championships. He seemed right at home as he beat Hrbaty 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 for his 60th straight grass-court win and 35th consecutive victory at the All England Club.

Roger Federer won yesterday beating Robin Soderling 6-3, 6-4, 7-6.

And I just found out Rafael Nadal won today beating Ernests Gulbis 5-7 (Nadal lost this set), 6-2, 7-6, 6-3.

The greatest surprise in Wimbledon has been third ranked seed Novak Djokovic losing to Marat Safin yesterday. Djokovic had been talking a lot of **** leading up to Wimbledon about how Roger Federer is losing his domininance within tennis.

Roger Federer rolls on beating Marc Gicquel 6-3 6-3 6-1! Federer has not lost a set yet at Wimbledon.

Nadal and Federer seem to be demolishing the competition. Hope to see the 2 of them at the Finals.

Nadal wins today by beating Mikhail Youzhny 6-3, 6-3, 6-1.

Federer wins today by beating 20th seeded Lleyton Hewitt 7-6, 6-2, 6-4.

And I am not sure what happened with the top ranked women this year BUT the TOP 4 ranked women are all out!

Roger Federer beat M. Acic 6-1, 7-5, 6-4 to head to the semis. M. Ancic, who, six years ago, was the last man to tame Federer on grass. He felt the full force Wednesday. Federer was on fire as he served at nearly 70 percent, captured a whopping 88 percent of points behind his first serve and, more eye-popping, won more than 80 percent of points from his second.

R. Nadal beat A. Murray 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.

So the Mens Finals at Wimbledon were this past Sunday and it was probably the most exciting tennis match i have ever witnessed. Unfortunately the player i have grown to love was on the short end of the stick as Roger Federer lost to the number 2 seed Rafa Nadel.

Looking forward to the US Open!!

TORONTO -- Top-ranked Roger Federer was knocked out of the Rogers Cup with a 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 loss to France's Gilles Simon in a second-round match Wednesday night.

Federer, who won the tournament in 2004 and '06, was playing his first match since losing the Wimbeldon final in five sets to Spain's Rafael Nadal.

"That's just unbelievable for me to win against him," Simon said.

Federer, who became the first top seed to lose in his first match here since Lleyton Hewitt in 2002, finished second here last year to Serbia's Novak Djokovic.

"The problem was my game today," Federer said.

Second-seeded Rafael Nadal looks like the favorite now, though he didn't look stellar in his first match Wednesday, struggling early on before ousting Ottawa-born qualifer Jesse Levine 6-4, 6-2.

Looks like Nadal will take the Rogers cup as well this year. When this years over it will be very debatable as to who should be the Mens number one and two seeds. Federer better wake up his game asap.
