So I was watching the national geographic channel or discovery channel cant remember exactly (both the same thing) and they had a one hour episode on the new Palm Islands. These artificial islands are worth millions. Homes on the islands are over a million dollars. You also have the option of buying your own small island, and those prices are between 10 and 50 million dollars! David Beckham and some of his british soccer mates have bought a couple home already.

The construction for this started in 2000 or 2001. They first had to build a barrier to protect the islands from natural weather disasters. They did this by adding sand and rocks to build up walls around the island. They had scuba divers checking out the rocks and sand around these barriers to see if there was shift or movement.

This whole process amazed me! Everything was taken into account! Tsunami's, earthquakes, and strong winds with high wave tidals. The fact that prince whateverhisnameis had the money to do this is BS! No wonder why gas prices go up constantly. He is also the only one in the world to own his own satellite in space to monitor the project. UNREAL!
