New York Jets open season with an L
The New York Jets were home to take on the new look Pats. These two teams last met last year in the playoffs when the NY Jets were eliminated. If you are a Jets fan this had to of been a frustrating game to watch. They simply did not show up to perform at all. The defense never ever even came close to touching Tom Brady at all. Tom Brady (on a HOT & HUMID day) didnt even break a swet. He just stood tall in the pocket and was nearly perfect on all pass attempts and never felt the body heat of an opposing Jets defender.
The newly acquired Randy Moss recieved the football 9 times for 183 yards and a beautiful touchdown catch on a 40 yard something pass play from Tom Brady. The NY Jets special teams (which even had a BLOCKED FIELD GOAL) in the first half , gave away the opening kickoff in the second half for a 108 yard touchdown return by Hobbs of the Patriots, quickly erasing the the beautiful blocked FG.
The NY Jets will play Baltimore next week and have one of the toughest schedules in all the NFL. Chad Pennington was injured on a sack but came back into the game limping. The newly acquired Thomas Jones did absolulty nothing. It doesnt look good this year for the NY Jets fan.
