Default January 2010 Hotel Deals

The Andaz, a Hyatt Hotel in the financial district has just opened up and appears to have some good deals for their grand opening guests. The cheapest rate per night is 275 dollars and in my financial world is quite a penny.

From the quote above it would seem like a nice luxury hotel that takes care of their guests. I just tried calling their number on their site and got brought to an answering machine saying I should leave a message and they would get back to me. Not a way to treat guests. Unless of course the hotel has not actually opened then I may feel a little silly.

Grand opening January 2010! This brand new luxury hotel is located in the center of the financial district at the corner of Wall Street and Water Street. The Andaz experience includes top-notch service, spacious meeting rooms, and generous accommodations.

275 a night is definitely not cheap at all and I would not consider that a deal. That is getting out right ripped off. First of all why would any tourist want to stay down there when there is literally nothing to do. It is a complete ghost town at night. I would recommend trying to find a cheaper place further north/ uptown from wall street.

The only folks I can see spending time at this hotel are businessmen and women who are there for work purposes. And they will probably get a corporate discount.

Conclusion - not worth 275 a night!

I know of no hotels that would allow 15 minors to have a sleep over party without significant adult supervision, due to liability issues. However I have seen a couple Bed & Breakfasts that catered to this type of affair with parental supervision.
