Checkpoints in Times Square
Yesterday I happened to drive down through Times Square (not a place I am a fan of driving) and not only was the road blocked for pedestrian traffic BUT I was also stopped by the NYPD for a general checkpoint. They took my license and registration and being that there were about 5 cars in front of me I literally waited for about 20 to 30 minutes to get my papers back. I understand the security aspect of this but seriously what a waste of 20 minutes of my life!
My recommendation for drivers out there do not drive through Times Square - it is a mess!

Time Square security checkpoint is getting more stringent and the cops are out in full force. I highly recommend staying away from this area. I just walked across times square, forgot my camera (so sorry), but it was an utter nightmare. Must be a million people in the area.
