Default Cruise Ship Scares / Tahiti

Cruise liners are going to drastically cut prices. With the Hurricanes and crimes on sea, passengers are starting to become wary. This and the pirate attack last fall is not helping the cruise line industry. The bulk of the issues occurs in the Caribbean, the most popular cruise destination and where most first time cruisers tend to sail. The busy port in Cozumel Mexico continues to be under repair after being severly damaged by hurricane Wilma.

There has been a broad array of bizarre cruise ship mishaps recently. Last summer a man, on his honeymoon, disappeared off a Carribean ship in the Mediterranean. In November, pirates attacked a vessel run by Carnivals Seabourn Cruise line off of Somalia. In the past couple of weeks, a fire killed one passenger on a Princess Cruise ship near Jamaica, a busload of cruise passengers who had chartered a bus crashed and died in Chile, and incidents of a stomach virus broke out on a number of different ships. Add all this to some of the recently horrific huricanes out there and its no wonder why the cruise ship industry is being hit hard.

Hence, I would say its safe to say you can find a good deal if your interested on boarding a cruise ship.

Hey so I just got back from Tahiti. It rained like crazy the first few days but the sun eventually came out for the remainder of the trip. I had an awsome time there..boarded the cruise ship Paul Gauguin.. and then left Tahiti and headed to Bora Bora, Morea, Tahaa, and Ratae. All in all I went to 5 islands in French Polynesia. Went swimming with lemon sharks and stings rays, and had plenty of fun with the locals.

By the way there was a power outage on the ship at 230 am and I thought of your previous post and though pirates had taken over and cut the power. I actually locked the door out of fear. So no more scary posts!!!!

Wow so how different are Tahiti and NYC. Does tahiti even have a major city or is it more like a deserted island?
