Besides, he pointed out, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg was photographed by The New York Post in May sipping a glass of wine at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

“It’s one of those laws that a lot of people know it’s there, but how heavily it should be enforced is a question,” Mr. VanRy said.

yea you shouldnt get a ticket if your sitting on your stoop, thats technically private property!

Bloomberg should have been given a ticket for drinking wine at the brooklyn bridge park, that is public alcohol consumption

the stoop of ones home (i agree) is private!

i dont see how you could be given a ticket for drinking on a private stoop either but then again the cop must have needed to hand something out for a quota
