I noticed this Van Leeuwen Artisanal Ice Cream truck parked outside Trader Joe's on 14th Street between Lafayette and 3rd Avenue last weekend. There was a long queue for the ice cream and the flavors sounded interesting. Even the sign board was arty and distinctive.

I didn't get a chance to try the ice cream here because I was on my way to dinner and didn't want to ruin my appetite. But I got to say, the ginger and giandujia flavors sound foreign to me.

So what is the oddest flavored ice cream you have eaten?

i happened to see this ice cream truck in Soho this past weekend and there was a good line for the ice cream a hot sunday afternoon. i didnt try the ice cream because of the long but def next time!

city - if you do try their ice cream get vanilla its amazing

sounds like there is a turf war going on between some of the ice cream truck in manhattan ... hehe think its somewhat amusing

maybe the ice cream truck vendors will start a street food fight by throwing ice cream cones at each other .... how sweet would that be a nice hot day!
