Default Multimillionaire Tax for NYC wealthiest

Mayor Bloomberg is opposed to the new Multimillionaire Tax idea that would tax the wealthiest people in nyc (hedge fund managers, private equity firms, and real estate leaders).

I would happen to agree with the mayor and I think to target a certain group of people is sick! The mayor also stated how wall street is not performing well and this may not be the right time for this tax to be issued but of course the union workers wouldnt give a rats ***!!

Labor leaders, members of the Working Families Party, and at least nine City Council members, all of whom rallied on the steps of City Hall on Tuesday in support of the measure. The executive director of the Working Families Party, Daniel Cantor, said the tax plan also has the support of several Albany lawmakers.

If approved in the capital, the crafters of the plan say it would raise an estimated $200 million a year, which supporters say could help pay for libraries, public transportation, and education.

i agree with the mayor in the article as well in that these wealthy people will just move out of nyc if a tax like this is implemented. And once the wealthiest people move out, it will just hurt the local economy. So my opinion is to drop this whole issue. Everyone is suffering right now in this economy!~
