The New Jersey Devils acquired defenseman Ken Klee from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forward Aleksander Suglobov. They also acquired defenseman Brad Lukowich from the NY Islanders in exchange for a third-round selection in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Both these two veteran defenseman will help an injured depleted NJ defense.
The New Jersey Devils acquired center Jason Wiemer from the Calgary Flames for a draft choice. He is a strong forward who will bring toughness and size to the offense. |

What the hell is happening? Last night NJ lost again 2-1 to philly. Maybe Mogilny needs to be brought back up into the lineup!! They are slipping out of the playoffs. The Devils need a winning streak to get some confidence going into the playoffs. Hope the next game is more offensive!

Well the Devils are on a 5 game winning streak. Things are starting to click for them at the right time. Only 6 games left in the regular season. They are tied with montreal and two points ahead of tampa bay. Atlanta is on the verge of closing in on all those teams I just listed above. I think Marty has definitly picked up his game. Congrats to marty for third all time on the WINS list!! I like what Lou did with the line changes as well, by switching elias with different linemates makes other players better. And elias' old linemates of gomez, gionta, with Zach Parise works out well I think. The latest win, beating the Penguins 6-4, Elias had a hat trick totaling 5 points on the night, and having him peak at the right time will make a world of difference comes the postseason.

The Devils beat Montreal a team they were tied with in points at 89. The Devils win gives them 91 and the are now four points behind Philly. They have a home and home with the Fliers so who knows what can happen. Im hoping they catch up and move up in the playoff standings. Gionta has 43 goals only 3 behind the team record and with 5 games remaining.

NJ Devils beat Philly last night and tied them with 97 points a piece. The Devils have more wins actually putting them ahead of Philly, but Philly has 3 games remaining and the NJ Devils have 2. This NJ Devils win is the ninth in a row. They are peaking at the perfect time. Gionta also has 45 goals, which is now one behind the team record.

Do you think Lou Lamoriello deserves coach of the year honors?
Will the Devils insert Viktor Kozlov back in the lineup? And will Marty Broduer be a runner up for the Vezina? There are also rumors swirling around the NHL that Patrik Elias is going to be heavily recruited by Toronto Maple Leafs.. Will the Devils go hard after Elias once this season ends? |

Yea I think Lou should definitly be mentioned for coach of the year. Since he has taken over the Devils have been the hottest team in the NHL. I also believe that the Devils should insert Viktor Kozlov back, he is one of the best when it comes to carrying the puck up the ice. He also played last night in the final game at Montreal. I dont think Marty will win the Vezina but if the Devils go far into the playoffs, Marty WILL be the reason why. I do see him then winning the MVP of the playoffs.

As far as Elias being a free agent this offseason, I think Lou will definitly sign him to a nice contract. Elias could easily be a Captain. I think Elias is a team guy and if I had to guess would pick NJ as the place to come back to and possibly finish his career. Truthfully I think Neidemayer would also be here if it werent for his brother Rob playing for the Mighty Ducks. If Elias gets the right contract he has no reason to go to Toronto.
Congrats to the Devils on winnning the Atlantic Division. They were 19 points out at Jan. 6th. It is the largest comeback in NHL history. They ended the regular season on an 11 game winning streak. Last edited by PaullyInNYC : 04-19-2006 at 12:32 PM. |

The Devils are amazing, after the sweep of the Rangers they are looking pretty dangerous. They are really coming together and believe in each other. The way they are playing right now I dont know who can really beat them other then maybe Ottawa. If the Devils can make their way to the Stanly Cup, they would have a solid chance of winning because both the Western Confernce 1 and 2 seeded teams were knocked out in the first round. If Im a Devils player you gotta realize they have a better then average shot of winning the Stanly Cup especially when you know the two favorite teams in the West will DEFINITLY NOT be there!!! Whenever they have swept a series in the playoffs, they have ALWAYS won the stanly cup! Lets see how this story of a season ends for the Devils.
And after Patrik Elias' performance, how can Lou NOT sign him back. |

Yea I def agree, I think its unfair to Elias that reports keep rubbing it in that he can chase the money this offseason. I hope he stays focused on whats at stake. I believe that New Jersey Devils have what it takes to possibly win the Stanley Cup.
Paul your right about their chances because the West is pretty weak other then maybe Colorado. So if the Devils can get through Carolina and it most likely Ottawa in the eastern confernce finals, I dont see them losing to any of the Western Conference teams. |
