Default Corner Billiards

Went out with some friends to Corner Billiards on 11th street and 4th av. The relaxing atmosphere is great if your looking for a place to hang out with your friends and do something low key. There is no dress code to worry about. The bar there has excellent drinks and one of my friends said he spotted Johny Knoxville there. All in all I had a good time and highly recommend it.

Corner Billiards is great. I have lived around the corner from there for the past 5 years and it's always a chill place to go without being hassled by anyone. The bar has no scene, but at least you can get drinks delivered to your pool table, some of which are quite far from the bar.
On a side note, it is across the street from Webster Hall- so if you happen to be enjoying a smoke outside you can watch the scantily clad girls waiting on line to get in. This also means that all the lowlife trash- you know, the gelled hair Statin Island kids, the south jersey iroc driving douchebags, and the rest of the bridge and tunnel scum- will be standing there as well.
No worries though- dont stare unless their backs are turned and you should be okay.

Back to the pool place- I know there are places like Slate which happen to be bars with pool halls, but with Corner Billiards, its a pool hall that happens to have a bar, so you can definately find worthy partners to play with or just have a great evening with your friends and with good ambient tunes playing(last time the lineup included; dylan, zeppelin, beck, the rolling stones, etc.) but still be able to carry on conversations and hear eachother laugh.

The prices arent too ridiculous either which is a breath of fresh air from Bowlmour Lanes. Last time, 2 hours of pool cost us $32.00 and for $80 we had nearly 3 rounds for 6 people consisting of beer as well as shots.

I would definately recommend Corner Billiards for people looking to get out and actually do something fun, whether drinking or not, and be able to be in the open but still maintain an intimate environment.

Default Re: Corner Billiards frequent players card

Even if you don't shoot pool regularly, Corner Billiards "used to have" frequent players cards. This was years ago, so I'm not certain if they still do it, but it doesn't hurt to ask. After 10 paid hours of pool, they pick up your 11th visit. Helps if you are on a budget or a pool junki!
