On the radio this morning I heard something about a website that allows dog owners to communicate with other dog owners so they can set up play mates. I thought it was funny but I wanted to shell out the idea to this community.

Hey CityGuy thats a pretty cool idea, what kind of dog do you have? I know some of the parks in manhattan have gated areas where all dogs can run around and be free while the owners can sit and relax. Hopefully we will get more dog owners here!

There are also professionals that can house sit your dog or walk your dog while your away or at work. Here are some websites for you
www.downtownpet.com www.nycdogwalkers.com www.petaholics.com Im sure you can find more if you search the net but you should check these out. |

I have two dogs in my apartment. I just hired a private person to deal with them while im away. Its soo much easier even though it is very expensive. But if you really care about your pets I think taking them away from a home setting and putting them in cages for a week is sick. Well I guess you guys can tell im an animal lover.

I think dogs are a huge responsibility...its hard to have a dog in the city unless you have the financial backing but a dog can prevent you from getting into a cab, restaurants, or bars.

On a side note (kinda funny actually), there was a cabbie that had a dog in his front seat and both my dog and the cabbies dog kept barking at each other the entire ride through the glass. It was kind of annoying yet somewhat cute. |

i cant believe a cabbie let you have a dog in your car thats awsome. I dont know any new york city cabbie that would allow that.
