The first game out west for the New Jersey Devils was against Vancouver Canucks. This was also a highly anticipated game between goalies Marty Broduer and Roberto Luongo. Marty Broduers team got shut out 5-0. I thought the Devils played a solid game but they eventually broke down once they realized it was out of reach. The long flight and change of time zone may have had somewhat of an effect. But the players are professionals and shouldn't use that as an excuse.
They will try to rebound tommorow night against Edmonton. To recap more on the game between Marty Broduer and Roberto Luongo check here. |

last night the nj devils beat edmonton oilers. they are now 1-1 on the western canadian road trip. the devils were down 1-0 and it seemed like they were never gonna score but midway through the third period brian gianta and patrick elias scored 35 seconds apart to make it 2-1. John madden added an empty net goal to make it 3-1. the devils next play calgary tommorow.

The new jersey devils beat the Calgary Flames tonite 1-0 in OT. Brian Gionta made a beautiful pass to Patrick Elias who scored the game winner. Both goalies played great through out the game. For a 0-0 game through regulation time it was really exciting. The Devils win 2 of 3 out in western Canada. Some of the players will head back to nj for the christmas holiday. The Devils dont play again until Friday when they play a very hot Buffalo Sabres team.
