Default NJ Devils @ Ottawa Senators

A rematch of the semi confernce finals last year, the New Jersey Devils will play at Ottawa. The new jersey devils lost the series in the playoffs 4-1. Ironically, last year during the regular season the nj devils won the series 3-1. The Senators who are already 3-0 on the season so far are showing they are the beasts of the east. They shut down a new york rangers team 2 nights ago 2-0. According to the mass media the new york rangers were the team to dethrone the Ottawa Senators but the Ottawa had a say in the matter. Now its the new jersey devils turn to go against the measuring stick of the east to see where they (nj devils) stand. Marty Broduer is starting in net after taking a game off in Florida. Should be an interesting game as usual between these two teams. Last year in the playoffs 3 of Ottawa's 4 wins were only decided by 1 goal. SHOULD BE AN INTERESTING MATCHUP!!

And as i write this i hear ottawa is already up 1-0 on C. Kelly goal assisted by A. Vermette. The first 5 minutes the new jersey devils were controling the play of the game. Elias who has been blasted by most devils fans so far for not shooting the puck has gotten a shot on goal early in this one. But as i just said the devils are down 1-0.

zach parise, travis zajac, and brian gionta are playing very well and taking it to ottawa but someone needs to tell the other 3 lines of the new jersey devils to do the same. Marty Broduer is keeping the devils in this one.

there is also a new york islanders game going on which is now tied 1-1. they are playing washington capitals and both teams are 2-0 to start the season. We need an islanders fan to post here !

Viktor Kozlov the former new jersey devils and more recently former new york islander scored the last goal for washington against former islander teammates.

Now the NJ Devils are down 2-0 to Ottawa thanks to Dany Heatley tip in at the crease. Marty Broduer has made some great saves but there is not enough help on the defensive end as well as the offensive lines getting the puck into Ottawa's zone!

The score is still 2-0 more then halfway through the second period and Patrick Elias with a golden opportunity doesnt shoot the puck, instead dances behind the net until one of the senators removed the net and was called for a penalty.

End of the second period and the score is now 2-1. Hope the new jersey devils build off this lead and come back to win this!!

And a post for Elias - this is common sense - you cant score a goal IF YOU DONT SHOOT THE PUCK!! Think about it!
