Both teams are in catch-up mode after slow starts put them behind the division-leading Patriots. The Jets were a playoff team in 2006 and had hopes of getting past the first round this year but after a 1-2 start they are in danger of falling into a hole too deep to climb out of. The NY Jets are in the much tougher AFC conference and need to win and get back to .500 as to keep up with all the other powerhouse teams that will for sure win most weeks then not. In the AFC this year a 9-7 record may not even get you a wildcard birth, and clearly the NY Jets will most likely not win the division with the much improved New England Patriots this year.

the new york jets defense looked pretty good on the first stand. Buffalos rookie quarterback trent edwards completed his first two passes and looked pretty sharp but on a 3rd and 8 Victor Hobson came up with his first sack of the season.

the offense doesnt look bad on their first drive. Thomas Jones looks like he is really ready to play and has been running solid. Its 4th and 1 and the Jets are called on a delay of game. So the jet will punt it away. lets see how the defense does. Laverneous Coles had a reception on the first drive.

This rookie quarterback Trent Edwards knows how to throw the ball and has great accuracy. I think he played college ball at Standford. The Bills have a problem running the ball so far but this passing game for the rookie Edwards looks pretty sharp. lee evans of the bills catches a great high pass from edwards but the very next pass play edwards completes the pass again and the reciever loses the football and the New York Jets recovered the ball.

Victor Hobson had the fumble recovery by the way. Thomas Jones catches a pass from Pennington and run up field for 11 yards. Chris baker was called on a delay of game and next play Thomas Jones runs it for a loss of a yard which now ends the first quarter.

now the jets face a 2nd and 16 to start the second quarter. A pass reception by chris baker to make it a 3rd and 9 and Pennington throws it well short and the NY Jets will be forced to punt. The punt by Ben Graham for 44 yards pins the buffalo bills deep in their own end on the 4 yard line.

its a play by play analysis haha.... this game is kinda boring ... the new york jets should have went for it on 4th and 1. they need to be aggressive if they want to win and the pass by pennington on that 3rd and 9 was horrible...PUT IN Kellen Clemons.

the buffalo bills got a first down on 2 run plays to get themselves out of trouble on their own 3 yard line. On third and three the bills throw the ball to Parrish who puts on a spin move to pick up the first down. The next play the Bills run the ball for 11 yards and another first down. And now Josh Reed catches a beautiful pass from Trent Edwards for 22 yards and puts the Bills in about field goal range. The next play Sean Ellis gets the sack for a 7 yard loss. The next play Josh Reed wants a pass interference on rookie Jet Darrel Revis but Josh Reed could not find the ball and hence no pass interference. On the screen play the Jets had it read and almost came up with an intercetion

That sack by Sean Ellis took the Buffalo Bills out of field goal range. The Jets will start with the ball inside their own 20. Trent Edwards is starting to scare me a bit. The Jets need to blitz more and sack this guy.

Chad Pennington got sacked and now they face a 3rd and 7. And now the Jets are penalized on a delay of game. its now 3rd and 12 and Thomas Jones RUNS THE BALL!!! And he picks up the first down....WOW!!!! Now the Jets get called on a clipping call which is a 15 yard penalty.
Jericho Cotchery catches a pass and its now 3rd and 15. Jerricho with another catch and gets NAILED. I really think that Kellen Clemons would be able to make certain throws that Chad Pennington can NOT make. It bothers me to NO end that he is our quarterback (Pennington that is). |
