In what I hope is the final act of the pathological liberal extreme in US Higher Education, the venerable
Columbia University is to give Mahmoud Ahmadinejad its on-campus, central-event stage. I don't know if if Columbia thinks it is bolstering First Amendment rights, if it thinks it is promoting useful dialogue, or what. Whatever it is thinking, Columbia is wrong. It is out of its cottonpicking mind to provide a stage for a man who is so far out of touch with reality as to tell us we need sharia and to deny the Holocaust. It doesn't help either that even if was not one of the psychopaths who took over our embassy in 1979 in person he was one of them in heart. Letting him speak is equivilant to letting the KKK speak. Here is a link to a Columbia University Blog where some students are voicing their opinions about Ahmedinijad visiting campus for a question and answer forum.

Yes, I'm no fan. But there is something to be said for facing the absurd and making such ideas be defended. We may not like ideas, but we shouldn't fear them. Nor should we close or minds or leave them unchallenged. Freedom means even evil, stupidity, and sheer wrong headedness gets to speak. Better to face it than ban it.

By the way is anyone MAD at Columbia University for allowing the Iranian President to speak in an open forum?

Mad...No. In Disagreement..YES!! I am surprised no one complained when CBS did the 60 min. interview with him.

It will be pretty embarassing for the CBS network if the Columbia University students ask better questions then did CBS.
Also the reason no one complained about the 60 min interview is that it was prerecorded while he was in IRAN. Its very different when his presence is actually felt here in America. The fact that he wanted to lay a reef at ground zero is a slap in the face to all Americans. I would bet my bank account he would be laughing deep inside at what those Al Queda retards did to us. |

If I were the ambassador of Israel I would walk out of the UN tommorow when the Iranian president shows up. I also heard that George Bush is speaking at 9am and the Iranian president is at 3pm. I am sooo sure that George Bush couldnt look that silly idiot in the face!
