A British columnist questions Manhattans integrity to stay true to the epic skyline that has become a staple in New Yorks history. With a lot of new building throughout the city constantly going up, I believe NY enjoys the energy and challenge that brings change about its landscape. Its nice to know that certain buildings will forever hold down our skyline but change is not always bad.

I agree that NY's architecture may be old relativly speaking...but the architecture that makes up manhattan is youthful, vibrant, and explosive. There are tons of new building going up all over. Manhattan to me is still relativley modern. As a new yorker and as a person who has traveled quit frequently New York is unique in its own way. Its a city which changes yet remains to keep its true identity. Its a city that can modernize with time but archives its past. I dont see it as old quit yet, but i see it becoming a stand-out city to which other growing communities will look to.

Each city is different, I enjoy the uniqueness of older European cities such as Prague, Vienna, and other diversly cultured eastern european cities. Asia as well has very old modern cities that grow yet retain cultural uniqueness throughout. I think New York is similar but different, its all a matter of individual opinion.
