So you've probably noticed.
Big signs in the subway with iPods saying you can download podcasts from the MTA website. The MTA has tried some crazy shit to appease their fellow riders. First it was computer generated announcements that were used for less time than 'PaullyinNYC' takes in bed, because everyone got pissed. I'm glad they got rid of 'em too, cuz its not fair to the guy thats trying to make an honest living playing a decent cover of a Johny Cash song. So here is our replacement. My train is stuck. I'm waiting here in the this fucking heat because noone thought of putting a simple fan on the platform. Geeee let me turn to my ipod to find out how long I'm gonna be waiting. Is this a fucking joke. Are they trying to pretend that their hip and with it by joining the podcasting train. Pun intended. This simply makes no fucking sense. Podcasts don't give real time information!!!! F-brilliant. Kudos. MTA. Learn from your friendly neighbors at NJ transit, who are only 10 years behind the times, and I abhor the fact that Im using them as an example, and put some TV screens up with some real time info. This is 2006. This is easy shit to do. Others have been doing it since the cold war. You won't annoy people with computer generated tones, and this makes a whole lotta sense. Eh, who am I to complain. I can take a 2 hour ride on an air conned train for less than 2 bucks. I guess I should be asking for anything at all. Last edited by CityGuy : 08-06-2006 at 12:25 PM. |
